I have been using these sturdy and reusable glass containers with BPA-free lids to store my prepped meals so they stay fresh in the fridge during the week. They’re dishwasher safe and microwave safe as well!
I always get asked what containers I use whenever I meal prep so I’m sharing with you the following containers I love and use often. Some of my containers are at least 5 years old but with proper care, they’re still holding up pretty well! They aren’t cheap especially if you’re buying multiple pieces at once but it’s worth the investment upfront because they will last a very long time.
PYREX 10-PIECE ULTIMATE FOOD STORAGE SET
These Pyrex containers have a flexible silicone and glass cover which creates a good tight seal with the glass base. They are heavier but super sturdy and the white silicone is resistant to food stains. I’ve used these to store Bolognese Sauce and Turmeric Garlic Rice and the silicone cover still come out white after a quick spin in the dishwasher.
PYREX 3-CUP and 6-CUP RECTANGULAR CONTAINERS
These are my 5-year old Pyrex containers that I still use today. The grey lid version is no longer available and have been replaced by the red and dark blue ones that both Amazon and Target sells. If you can only get one set, you should get these Pyrex 3-Cup and Pyrex 6-Cup rectangular containers!
GLASSLOCK FOOD STORAGE CONTAINERS
I use these containers to pack my prepped meals to take with me to work. I was buying these individually at TjMaxx and HomeGoods because they were a bit cheaper. You can now get an 18-piece Glasslock set (9 containers, each with a lid) for a really good price. These make my lunch bag heavy since I bring 3 with me every day but it’s worth hauling around because I prefer to microwave my food in glass vs plastic containers. Note: I remove the plastic lid and cover my food with a paper towel when I microwave it.
BALL MASON WIDE AND REGULAR MOUTH JARS
WIDE & REGULAR – PINT
REGULAR – HALF PINT
These jars are great for storing soups such as my Turkey Chili, sauces like Chimichurri, Chili Oil and Chili Garlic Paste and little bits of leftovers that the Pyrex and Glasslock containers are too big for. I have both the pint and half-pint sized ones. The metal cover it comes with tends to rust easily so I replace these with BPA-free plastic covers (Wide Mouth and Regular Mouth) that are super easy to clean.
CRATE & BARREL 10oz WORKING GLASS AND LID
I’ve used these to store dry food and leftovers because they’re not as leak-proof as the Ball Mason jars but they’re sturdy and very affordable. I even use these as drinking glasses when all my regular glasses are in the dishwasher!
So there you have it, a complete list of all the containers I use during my weekly meal preps. I highly recommend these containers and I know you will enjoy using them as much as I do.
