Making your own Easy Homemade Granola involves just a few steps!
Those packages of granola at the grocery store that are priced at $7-8 for an 8 ounce a bag are convenient but expensive and can be loaded with a lot of sugar and unhealthy oils.
Why buy when it’s super easy to make it at home? When I mean easy, its EASY as 1-2-3. Seriously! Just 3 main ingredients (plus any mix-ins you want) and you have a tray of Easy Homemade Granola in no time.
I turned to my friends over at Bob’s Red Mill because I know they have good quality products and grabbed the gluten-free Old Fashioned Rolled Oats that costs less than $8 for a 32-ounce bag. That one giant bag of oats costs as much as that tiny bag of store-bought granola!
You really save a lot of money by making your own granola and you can mix in any dried fruit, nuts and seeds that your tummy and palate desire!
Easy Homemade Granola
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- 2 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries or 1/2 cup chocolate chips or 1/2 cup coconut flakes
Preheat oven to 300F.
In a small bowl, add coconut oil. Microwave it for 10 seconds until melted.
Add honey and mix well.
In a large bowl, add old fashioned oats and pour the coconut oil and honey mixture on top. Mix well.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Transfer the oats into the baking sheet. Arrange it in one layer so they brown evenly.
Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.
Stir and Bake for another 5 minutes.
Sprinkle your desired mix-ins on top . Mix and let it cool completely.
Transfer and store in a large glass container.
