Back in the day, I used to buy those ready-made breakfast sausages that go for $4-6 for an 8oz box. I soon realized how easy they are to make for a fraction of the cost so I created a spice mixture that my taste buds would love. Here is an easy peasy Breakfast Sausage recipe has been one of my favorite breakfast staples recently. I make a double batch to last a week and it’s ready in 15 minutes (or less). Easy and yummy recipes are always a winner in my book!
Easy Peasy Pork Sausage
Ingredients
- 3/4 tsp dried sage
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 lb ground pork
- cooking oil spray for frying
Instructions
-
Combine the dried sage, dried thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, coconut sugar and sea salt in a small bowl.
-
Place the ground pork in a large bowl and add the seasoning. Mix eveything together until well combined.
-
Divide mixture into 8 patties. Each one should be about 2 oz and 2 1/2 inches in diameter so they cook faster.
-
Spray a cast iron pan over medium heat with cooking oil.
-
Pan fry each side for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown.
-
Serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Hi Jenny. This sausage sounds and loosk super yummy. I’m currently trying to keep coconut out of my diet because of how I’ve felt in recently weeks and months after comsuming coconut milk and coconut butter. I’m not sure how I would do with coconut sugar, so is there anything you would recommend to replace the coconut sugar? I thought maple sugar at first, but I’m trying to keep added sugar out as well. Thanks. 🙂
Jenny says
Hey Amy! You can use maple but omitting the coconut sugar from the recipe is totally fine and doesn’t take any flavor away from the sausage. I’ve done that before and it was hard to tell the difference! I’ll update the recipe to make it optional 😉

Hi Jenny, the recipe sounds great. I hope everything goes well for you. I grew up going to Pismo Beach in the summers and still go back at least twice a year even though I live closer to Sacramento now lol. Have a great and relaxing time amid the storm lol. It has finally passed here. Take care

That is awesome! Do you still have family there? Its so low key there and everyone is so friendly. The steaming bean is our favorite spot, we can sit there for hours 🙂 The weather was beautiful this morning and the rain has finally passed. You take care too <3

Our family lives in the Kings County area. So it’s close enough that they still all head out there several times a year lol. It’s great having a low key beach to go to on the weekdays when everyone else is working and in school. That’s when we take our girls since we homeschool. Where is the steaming bean?
Jenny says
It’s on Shell Beach Rd right next to the 101 fwy close to the city hall, lol. I had to google Kings County and it’s not a bad drive to the beach 🙂

Oh ok. My sister-in-law is always at Shell beach with my niece, she loves collecting shells there. Take care.

Sounds great Jenny! Haven’t tried adding coconut sugar to mine. But I bet it delicious!!! Hope your vacation was great!

Vacation is always too short, I wish I was still back there! The coconut sugar doesn’t make it sweet but just gives it that nice golden crust 😉
